Sports tours specialist now offering new location for school trips

A UK based school sports tours specialist has announced it will soon be adding a new location to its schedule for school trips.

As well as offering a range of sports tours to places such as Portugal, Activ4 is now adding Athens to its portfolio of places to visit in 2011.

The company now hopes that teachers and sports coaches will see the huge potential the Greek city will offer in terms of sports tours and educational visits. It is also hoped that children and teachers alike will be able to take advantage of the excellent sporting facilities the city offers as well as its rich history and classical architecture.

The school sports tours specialist will launch this new venture in January 2011. But teachers from those schools and clubs interested in the Athens trip can take advantage of a familiarisation trip due to take part during mid term break in October 2010.

Teachers will be guided around by a company tour manager. In addition the total price of £325 will include all meals on a half board basis, flights from London and two nights accommodation. Entrance to wonders such as the Acropolis will also be included and there will be sports tours to the Stadia in Athens. If schools then choose to book later the trip, this fee will be refunded.

Managing director of the group, Steve Scott insists a lot of time is invested in finding the right partners overseas to ensure Activ4 can offer fantastic school trips.

He said: “We constantly evaluate where we can improve our overall offering and the itineraries we create for our clients. We are really confident Athens will be a valuable addition to our destination portfolio.”

Teachers are invited to come on this familiarisation in October 2010 to get a feel for the location and see what the trip has to offer.
