DETROIT — Auria Solutions opened its North American headquarters near Detroit this week.
The automotive acoustic and textile startup was created by a joint venture between Shanghai Shenda Co. and International Automotive Components. It moved 120 employees into its 28,000-square-foot offices in Southfield, Mich., near the Southfield Town Center, said spokesman David Ladd.
Auria’s new location will house global and regional management, regional corporate operations, and global and regional engineering, in addition to sales and product development personnel. Employees were relocated mainly from IAC’s North American headquarters in Southfield.
Auria also has a tech center in Plymouth, which houses what it says is the industry’s largest modern hemi annecoic test chamber, and a manufacturing facility in St. Clair. It employs a total of about 350 people in Southeast Michigan.
The company was formed under the joint venture in September and generates $1 billion in annual revenue, Ladd said. It is projected to double sales within the next five years.
Auria has financial headquarters in Coleshill, England, and operates 27 manufacturing and nine commercial, engineering and testing and tooling facilities across 10 countries.
